1977 20 Dollar Bill Security Features

Spotting a fake 100.00 bill is simple and easy to do when you know what to look for. I saw the fake 100.00 that was given to my customer and you could tell t.
Look for security features in all denominations, except the $1 and $2. The easiest way to spot a fake $5, $10, $20, $50 or $100 bill is to look for the following security features.
No special security features were used on $100 bills printed before 1990. Accordingly, the best way to check its authenticity is to compare it to another $100. 20 X Research source You might have to go to a bank to check if the bill is authentic.

Series 1977 $100Due to the increasing availability and quality of desktop publishing software and printer/scanner technology, the US Treasury department introduced a re-designed twenty dollar bill in an attempt to thwart counterfeiting. The bill features many high tech security features that are extremely difficult or impossible to reproduce using commonly available publishing technology. Series 1977 $20. Printed April 1978 through October 1981. Signatures: Morton-Blumenthal. All $20  Previous $20: Series 1974  Next $20: Series 1981 Other Series 1977: $1  $5  $10  $50  $100. The ranges listed in italics are missing from the BEP reports. It appears that these serial number ranges were in fact printed, so I've inserted them into the table in approximately their correct locations.
In October 1980, the standard print run for $100 star notes was increased from 2000 to 20,000 sheets. Any district which had stars printed both before and after this change will have a factor-of-ten gap in its serial numbering; for example, district B used no serials between B 007 04001 * and B 070 40000 *.
